Chronic pain and long term health imbalances that don't respond well to medical treatments are often a result of unresolved trauma.  Traumatic events occur in a person's life, and they may not be equipped with the skills or tools at the time to work through the full impact that the incident had on them. Emotions and energies get stuck and trapped in the body and can be an underlying contributing factor to complicated issues in the tissues. 

Numerous modalities, including craniosacral therapy, Maya Abdominal Therapy, somatic experiencing, and EFT, can be incorporated into sessions to help balance and regulate the vagus nerve, thus calming the body, depending on what is called for at the time. Reiki is a Japanese healing practice that involves the transfer of energy through gentle touch or by hovering hands over the body. The term "Reiki" comes from two Japanese words: rei, meaning "universal life," and ki, meaning "energy." What does a Reiki treatment look like?

The session typically takes place in a quiet, comfortable setting.

You remain fully clothed and lie down on a massage table. The Reiki practitioner begins by lightly placing their hands on or just above specific areas of your body, such as the head, shoulders, torso, and limbs. They use a series of hand positions, staying in each position for several minutes.
